How to Set Up Sound Alerts in MT5

MT5 has a feature that notifies you with sound alerts when certain actions occur, such as server connection, order execution, email reception, or news updates.
You can freely enable or disable this feature as needed.

How to Enable or Disable Sound Alerts

Click “Options” from “Tools” in the top menu of MT5.
The Options window will appear, so click the “Events” tab.
Check the box for “Enable sound alerts” within the Events tab, then click “OK” at the bottom of the window to activate sound alerts.

Conversely, if you uncheck “Enable sound alerts” and click “OK”, the sound alerts will be disabled.
If you do not need any sound alerts, it is recommended to disable them.

If you want to enable or disable sound alerts for each action individually, keep the “Enable sound alerts” box checked, then double-click the event name you want to change, or click the bell icon to its left.
If the bell icon changes to a red mark, it indicates that the sound alert has been disabled.
Click “OK” at the end to confirm the change.

If you want to enable it again, repeat the same steps.
When the bell icon returns to its original state, it means the sound alert is enabled.

The available events that can be configured are as follows.
Event Description
Connect Successful connection to the server
Disconnect Failed connection to the server
Email Notify When receiving an email in MT5
Timeout Trade not executed within a specified time
Ok Successful operation
News When receiving a newsletter
Expert Advisor When executing an Expert Advisor

Requote When a requote occurs
Trailing Stop When a trailing stop order is triggered
Testing Finished When a backtest is completed

How to change the sound of audio alerts

If you select “Other” from the dropdown menu, you can use your own sound file.
Select the desired sound file name from the dropdown menu and click “OK” to apply the new sound.
